Cloudland Blue Quartet is a quartet in name only, influenced by Fripp & Eno’s “No Pussyfooting” and The Velvet Underground’s debut, David Reilly started musicking in 1977, creating drones by sellotaping down keys on his dad’s Bontempi Organ. A junk shop electric guitar and fuzzbox and the acquisition of an old Beatles songbook, led him into songwriting. Of his back catalogue of around 300 releases, his 1996-2024 output is available on Bandcamp. For live soundscapes, David combines stems of pieces from across a multitude of his LPs, to create a unique “Live Suite”. The latest suite will be performed at SWITCHED ON.”
