Switched On – Wavelength – Electronic Us

In 2020, Flash Company Arts developed Flowergate Hall Community Arts Centre, and one of the very first things that the team did was look for partners who wanted to deliver events in this boutique DIY venue. When David and Rebecca approached Colin Morrison from Castles in Space with the offer of a free venue to deliver an electronic music festival they were delighted when he said YES!

After three years and four great events, Levitation was ‘ready to fly’, and took place in Bedford in October 2024 – leaving a big hole in our electronic music program.

So much love has been poured into the brilliant community of artists and wonderful audiences that we just had to keep the flame alive.

Switched On is of course an homage to the magnificent Wendy Carlos, and we want to create an inclusive, equitable festival where all are welcome, and where women and gender minority artists are platformed alongside emerging artists, established artists and everything in-between. Because even in our music making we are stronger together – that’s why we are Electronic Us – making the sounds that bring our worlds to life!
